Campers will experience Long Island’s North Fork wine country, home to more than 60 vineyards and spectacular tasting rooms. From rich Cabernet Francs to versatile rosés and legendary sparkling wines, Long Island has grown award-winning wines in unmatched settings for decades.

The Long Island AVA pairs traditional, delicious wines with sustainable growing practices and a down-to-earth attitude. Originally consisting of two smaller AVAs (American Viticultural Areas), the Long Island AVA was established in 2001 to better reflect the growing wine region. Spanning across both the North and South Forks, this stellar AVA stands out because of its soil, its climate, and the unceasing drive of the individuals who have devoted their lives to working the land and creating distinctive and impressive wines.

“Our goal is to provide an educational platform in a fun format for people to learn more about wine,” says Director of Commonwealth Wine School, Jessica Sculley. “We’re proud to offer the Long Island Wine Camp in addition to our school’s array of public tasting classes, trade events, and certification courses led by instructors who are experts in their fields.”
