Angola: National Development Plan announces AKZ 29.1 billion

A AKz 29.1 billion amount will be released under fiscal strategy for the 2018-2022 period, according to the National Development Plan (PND).


Of this amount, 62% will be allocated to the current actions and 38% to the National Development action programmes.

The PND referred to the social dimension of development as priority for 2018-2022 period, predicting a gradual increase in the amount to the sectors of education and health from 12.4% to 20% and 8.5% to 15%, respectively.

According to a document, presented by minister of Economy and Planning Pedro Fonseca on Saturday to the members of the ruling MPLA party, there was a decrease of resources allotted to the services of general public, defence, order and security, from 18.9 % to 6.3%,  12.0% to 6.0% and  9.4% to 7.0%, respectively.

The move is meant to attract at least an additional annual average of AKz 6.8 billion, with complement by private sector.

The NDP has six key pillars, 25 strategic policies and 83 action programmes.
