Grand Canyon National Park is inviting public input on a proposed increase in camping fees for frontcountry campgrounds, set to begin April 1, 2025. This adjustment would affect standard tent and RV sites at Mather, Desert View, and North Rim campgrounds, marking the first update to these fees in 20 years.

Currently, the cost for standard tent or RV sites is $18 per night, with Senior and Access pass holders paying half that rate. The proposed increase would raise the fee to $30 per night, or $15 for discounted passes. Rates for equestrian, group, and walk-up sites would remain unchanged for the 2025 season.

These fees directly support the park by funding essential projects that enhance visitor experiences, improve facilities, and ensure safety. Thanks to the Federal Lands and Recreation Enhancement Act, 80% of the fees collected stay within the park. In 2023, the campgrounds hosted over 159,000 tent stays and 84,000 RV stays, helping maintain the park’s infrastructure.
