Will the "heroic" Qassam epic from Gaza ruin Netanyahu's political career?
Do American military outposts in Iraq leave before a clash with Iran?
The Al-Qassam Brigades, which are linked with the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas”, taught the Israeli army a lesson and defeated it and its leadership. This was accomplished by ambushing its men with expertly constructed traps, particularly in the Zeitoun neighbourhood, resulting in multiple deaths and more than 11 wounded; four of them are in serious condition. Most crucially, the resistance forces managed to capture four Israeli soldiers alive.
These field victories, which the military editor of the Israeli newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” described as embodying the “skill” of the Al-Qassam Brigades fighters in ambushing Israeli soldiers and their high capabilities in inflicting significant losses on their ranks, come as a “rehearsal” or “sample” of what awaits the large-scale attack being prepared by Benjamin Netanyahu and the chief of his army’s staff to occupy the Gaza Strip and destroy the city of Ga
The resistance is prepared for this attack and still has the ammunition and military equipment to counter it, as recent ambushes demonstrated that Israel’s bet on their depletion after 22 months of heroic steadfastness failed. They intimated that they will not be responsible for protecting the lives of the twenty living detainees in their possession, implying that they will be slain by the gunfire and missiles of Israeli soldiers who attack and occupy the area under the guise of “liberating them”. We must remember the notion that the land fights alongside its people, and that as the number of invading forces increases, so will the number of victims.
Capturing one Israeli soldier, whether in the Battle of Al-Zeitoun or the next larger onslaught, would be the ultimate blow to Netanyahu and his ruling hardline coalition and the quickest way to terminate whatever time he has left behind bars, unless he is assassinated.
The Al-Qassam Brigades did not take just one soldier, but four, and we are waiting for the huge surprise when “Hamas” releases photographs of the four newly captured troops, whom the Israeli military leadership has admitted to hiding.
The failures will not only affect the Israeli army but also American President Donald Trump, who supports the extermination campaign in the Gaza Strip, pressing Netanyahu to “complete the mission” as soon as possible. The confusion that “Trump” is experiencing, as well as his decision to prevent “President” Mahmoud Abbas and his delegation from entering the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly session and participate in a conference on its sidelines to support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, may be the most significant indicator of this truth.
This ban is the American reward for President Abbas, the architect of the Oslo Accords, who gave up more than 80% of Palestine’s historical lands and the right of return, established Palestinian security forces to protect the occupation and its settlers, and “legitimised” the settlement of 800,000 people in the West Bank.
The next three months may see the largest expected battle in the Middle East, signalling the end of the Israeli settlement project. The heroic resistance in the Al-Zeitoun neighbourhood of Gaza; the Yemeni hypersonic missile equipped with a cluster warhead that reached its target deep in Tel Aviv, causing significant human and material losses by penetrating all air defence systems; the imminent response from Hezbollah to Israeli provocations in Lebanon with precision missiles; and its readiness for war against any attempt to disarm it, as well as the US’s evacuation of its military bases in The days are passing us by.
