2017 Eagle County Fair and Rodeo

The Eagle County Fair and Rodeo 2017 in Colorado will take place this year between July 19th and 22nd; this PRCA event is sure to be filled with excitement, action and fun. It happens at the Eagle County Fairgrounds, not far from I-70. You can fly into the Eagle County Regional Airport on non-stop flights from Denver. In addition to the lively rodeo, there will be a Junior Livestock Auction. Bring the whole family for a day of action-packed festivities and fun.

History

With its beginnings in 1939, the Eagle County Fair and Rodeo has always featured friendship and competition. It was first held on the Eagle School grounds. Wives of the contestants and organizers displayed canned goods, preserves and needlework. A football game and dance were also part of the planned fun.

Some of the popular events to take place at the Eagle County Fair and Rodeo

Livestock auction

There will also be the favorite Mutton Bustin' for kids 5 to 8, with safety helmets required. "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" night, sponsored by Wrangler, is scheduled for Friday, July 22nd; proceeds will go to the Shaw Regional Cancer Center. You're encouraged to wear pink, while dressing like the cowboys and contestants.

Cowboys and cowgirls will be putting their skills to the test at this PRCA event.

Tickets

Tickets to the Eagle County Fair and Rodeo are available online. Adults pay $20 and Seniors pay $15. Children under 3 are free and children 4 through 12 are $1. The ticket office locations at the fairgrounds are open July 19 - 22, 5 p.m - 9:30 p.m.

Charities and 4-H

Each year the Eagle County Fair and Rodeo partners with one of the local non-profit organizations to offer the rodeo experience to local families. This year the clients from the Bright Future Foundation and their Buddy Mentors will be enjoying the rodeo. Contributions from this PRCA rodeo are made to the "Saddle Up" program.

The 4-H Club encourages citizenship, leadership and skills for life. Young people make new friends while learning new skills to become leaders. Participants in 4-H will be part of the Livestock Auction and will be putting their 4-H knowledge and business learning to use.

Covering all the fun and excitement of the rodeo will be the media team from Cowboy Lifestyle Network, Ak-Chin Indian Community, Earnhardt Auto Centers and Papa John's Road Team.
