It all starts from tasting, feeling, and you will feel in love with a culture.
Last time, I talked about food in #HongKong, and this time, it's about an ancient city in China - #Nanjing.
Looking for some different types food that you never tried before?
Chinese food is so diverse that, if you come to China, you will never find the same kinds of food in different cities. Each city has its own ‘secret’ restaurants that still have some traditional foods that were popular hundreds of years ago. This time, we are going to explore Nanjing, a city in Southern China. It has been serving as the capital of various Chinese dynasties, kingdoms and Republican governments dating from the 3rd century CE to 1949. So the food here is also really special.
And the place is called Nanjing Impressions.
Osmanthus-scented Steamed Sponge is made with sticky rice, osmanthus, honey, and water. It has a unique sweetness that you’ll love!
It’s better with a special sweet soup.
Did you see the soup next to that cake? It’s called the Traditional Sweet Taro Seeding in Lotus Starch with Osmanthus
And what if chicken meets with the mushroom?
Variety types of food are available here. Including tofo, and the rice in a bamboo tube, which carries a special smell of bamboo.
Here it shows Spring Rolls and the special Stinky Tofu that has a strong smell but tastes so great.
Wonton and Jingling Noodles
It’s such a nice place and you will feel like you are traveling back to the ancient time about 1600 years ago.
Overall, the best food here I tasted and think it’s unique to this place is Osmanthus-scented Steamed Sponge, Traditional Sweet Taro Seeding in Lotus Starch with Osmanthus, Chicken with ginger and wine in casserole.
That’s all about the food in Nanjing, China.
Hope you enjoyed it!
