Why Queen Elizabeth's Mom Did Not Fix Her Discolored Teeth?
Queen Elizabeth's mom, also known as the Queen consort and the Queen Mother, was one of the most formidable personalities in the royal family. She was also fondly called the "Smiling Duchess," but the nickname was never an allusion to her teeth.

The Queen Mother had one of the worst looking sets of teeth among the older royal members of the family. Her gnashers were quite discolored, but it didn't hinder Queen Elizabeth's mom as a public figure.
Dentist Matthew Rose explained to Daily Express why the Queen Mother chose not to get her teeth fixed, despite the privileged and the money. He said that during the Queen Mother's time, going to the dentist was quite an invasive procedure and that the technology people enjoy now, such as fluoride and cosmetic dentistry, were hardly available then.
The dentist also pointed out that even if there were advancements in dentistry during the late stages of Queen Elizabeth's mother's life, she must not have given any care for her appearance anymore. Despite having bad teeth, however, the Queen Mother continued to appear in public with a confident smile.

The Britons loved calling Queen Elizabeth's mother as the Smiling Duchess because of her "indomitable spirit." She was always the source of great moral support for her husband, King George VI, her daughters, her grandchildren, and even the people who served under two monarchs.
When King George VI died due to cancer, everyone worried that the Queen Mother would withdraw from public service. However, she was courageous in accepting the loss and quickly went back to work because she knew it was her duty.

Meanwhile, Prince William reportedly had cosmetic dentistry sometime in 2014 after he chipped his teeth during a society party. He was apparently on the dance floor with his friends, and one of them accidentally hit his face while dancing as well.
At that time, he and his wife Kate Middleton were expecting their first child. He joked that if the duchess were to give birth that night, he would have to face the public with a missing tooth.
Kate also had some cosmetic dentistry done before her marriage to Prince William. According to the Telegraph, she went to a French dentist who specialized in "harmonious asymmetry" to improve her natural smile.
According to dental experts, too perfect teeth like Tom Cruise's are not good to look at. Kate retained some imperfections on her teeth with this groundbreaking procedure so that her smile doesn't look artificial.
