From Humble Beginnings

For William Peters, wealth management has never been only about numbers. As Chief Executive Officer of Peters Wealth Management and Insurance Solutions, he has built a practice around a simple premise: complex financial lives call for coordinated guidance rather than isolated advice. Based in Kelowna and serving clients across British Columbia, the firm works with incorporated professionals, business owners, high net worth families, and retirees navigating the increasingly layered decisions around investment management, insurance, retirement income, and estate planning.

"The greatest financial risk is often not market volatility," William says. "It is failing to prepare. The decisions people make today regarding retirement, insurance protection, taxation, and estate planning will impact their families for decades."

That perspective, he says, is rooted in a lifetime of serving others rather than in theory. "I have always had a nurturing spirit and an intense desire to make a difference in the lives of those I serve. Our firm believes in a holistic, client-centric approach, helping clients navigate both their personal and business journeys."

His values were formed long before his career in finance began. Growing up as one of fifteen children in a household of seventeen, William learned early that work ethic, accountability, and respect for others carried more weight than material standing, a conviction that still shapes how the firm treats every client relationship, regardless of portfolio size.

That grounding extends to how the practice is built. Under William, the team spans administration, advisory, and business development, chosen as much for character as for expertise. "Integrity and empathy are two of the most important qualities I look for," he explains. "What sets us apart is our intensive training program, our absence of quotas, and our commitment to delivering solutions based entirely on what is best for the client."

For business owners and incorporated professionals, that commitment often centres on insurance as a planning tool, offering tax efficiency, estate preservation, liquidity, and business continuity. For retirees, comprehensive planning can mean the difference between uncertainty and confidence in the years that matter most.

William is careful to note that visibility is not the point. While he acknowledges his role as the public face of the firm, he speaks of leading quietly, preferring to support a select group of charities from behind the scenes rather than seeking recognition for it.

Looking ahead, William sees growing demand for advisors who can bring clarity to increasingly complex financial lives. The firm continues to expand its advisory team and extend its reach into new markets, including Ontario, while maintaining the personalized service that has become its hallmark in the Okanagan.

For William Peters, the work has never been about growing assets alone. It is about helping families and business owners make critical decisions before opportunities are lost, protecting what has been built, and preparing thoughtfully for what comes next.
