The Senior Awards held on Friday, May 17th, honored senior students from Whitko Jr/Sr High School who had persevered to win honor in athletics, attendance, grade point average, and scholorships.
3rd in the State for 6th Grader Kanyon Michael
Saturday, May 18th, Middle School State Bowling Finals were hosted in Anderson, Indiana. Kanyon Michael was among those there to represent Whitko Middle School, and he is a 6th grader at South Whitley Elemetary. Beginning with a field of 724 student across the state,108 middle schoolers competed for the title. Kanyon bowled a 655 series earning him 3rd place in the state for 6th grade.
Whitko Wildcat Archery Wins Big with Cassidy Skinner and Isabella Hughes
May 11th, Whitko's archers took flight at Louisville, KY for the National Competition. Final results earned were as follows:

Cassidy Skinner - 1st (292)/3rd overall girl
Isabella Hughes - 4th (290)/8th overall girl
Skinner also placed 5th in the Centershot competition with an overall score of 292 in the Middle School Division. Points earned are based on a possible 300.
3rd Grade Living Wax Museum
Each spring, the 3rd graders at PES present a living wax museum. They prepare posterboard displays and some even dress as the historical figure they have researched. Parents are encouraged to visit the displays and ask questions about the various figures, and students from other grades are able to tour the living wax museum as a part of the day.

Welcome Principal Michele Smith
May 20th was also marked the monthly Whitko School Board Meeting. Pierceton Elementary hosted the final board meeting which has been known affectionately as the "Road Show" because it has allowed the School Board to visit each school within the district. It also marked an occasion for Whitko to celebrate their newest appointed principal, Michele Smith. Congratulations to Smith on her unanimous appointment by the school board. "
