5 Key Pieces of Advice for Aspiring Content Creators
Be very clear about your brand position.
What advice would you give to all aspiring teen creators who're getting started on creator platforms? originally appeared on Quora, the place to gain and share knowledge, empowering people to learn from others and better understand the world.
This is a great question! Some of my suggestions include:
Being very clear about your brand position. Simply put, determine what it is you’d like to create by being clear about what it is that you’re passionate about. A great way to begin is choosing three topics that you feel inspired by and use those as the main pillars of your conversations. Make yourself very well known for sharing about these topics on whatever platform you choose. This will position you as an authority, even at a young age.
Another suggestion would be deciding where you want to start by studying the platforms available to you. I would suggest choosing no more than three platforms to focus on at a time be it TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Quora, or another.
Most importantly, have fun and be yourself! If you're feeling inspired by what you create, others will too. Being real and authentic will help you reach more people faster and create a following that becomes your community as you grow. As you evolve into young adulthood, even if your message changes, your audience will appreciate you taking them through the growth with you.
A couple of helpful tools to research and consider:
Design your logo and visuals to make sure people recognize you everywhere! Use a free resource like Canva or make a tiny investment with a platform like Fiverr to get you started!
Create a simple website or landing page to house your brand and to build an email list! An email list will keep you in touch with your followers when social media fails. Use a platform like Wix, Squarespace, etc.
