Meghan Markle Regrets Quitting Acting To Marry Prince Harry, Royal Expert Says
Meghan Markle has big regrets about quitting her career in Hollywood when she became a member of the royal family. In November 2017, the former Suits TV star retired from show business as she started a new chapter in her life as the wife of Prince Harry.

According to royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith, Meghan likely realized that being a royal was incomparable to being an actress. While there are advantages and perks to being part of the upper crust of society, being a royal is far from being a celebrity as it means fulfilling official duties and engaging in charitable work.
Bedell Smith said that Meghan actually needed to renounce a lot of things that actually meant to her to commit to an institution that's over 1,000 years old. Unfortunately, the Duchess of Sussex didn't see being a royal under those terms thus it seemed easier for her to give up her royal life.
Because of this viewpoint, Bedell Smith believes that Meghan "really regrets" choosing to leave her professional life behind. Moreso, she was quite a successful independent, earning career woman before she agreed to marry her prince.
Before meeting Prince Harry, Meghan worked as Rachel Zane, the sexy paralegal, in the U.S. legal drama Suits. She was part of a mildly successful series for six years and she left just as the show was due to begin filming its seventh season.
Despite losing her acting career, however, Meghan is still in touch with a powerful team in Hollywood, including the Hollywood agent Nick Collins. Speculations are that with the help of Collins' Gersh Agency, Meghan and Prince Harry might land lucrative deals as well as philanthropic opportunities for their brand, Sussex Royal.
Experts said that Prince Harry and Meghan could stand to make billions of pounds by leveraging Meghan's Hollywood connections. If they chart their career path right, they could produce films and TV shows, sign a book deal, or embark on public speaking engagements.
Prince Harry and Meghan announced in early January that they would like to step back from being senior members of the royal family. They also said that they would like to earn a private income, as well as divide their time between the London and the U.K.
After weeks of discussions with the rest of the royals, Queen Elizabeth agreed to the wishes of the Sussex pair. Beginning spring 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan will no longer be asked to represent the Queen and they will also be no longer addressed as His or Her Royal Highnesses.
