Angola: World Bank releases US$110M for health sector

The World Bank released USD 110 million to aid the Angolan government health projects.


The agreement was signed on Thursday in Luanda by the Angolan Finance minister, Archer Mangueira and World Bank representative in Angola, Oliver Lambert.

The project, which will benefit women in reproductive age and five-year children in 21 municipalities and seven provinces, is aimed at aiding the Angolan government’s efforts to improve the quality of the health services in the country.

Speaking to the press, the Health minister, Sílvia Lutucuta, considered the deal a social key stone that will aid to bolster the country’s health system and improve the primary assistance in municipalities.

To the minister, the funding will enable the continuation of previous projects focused on the assistance in municipalities and strengthening of the health services in the country.
