I’ve found that to lead a team successfully, there are a few things one must do consistently, including:
• Communicate and provide transparency - leaders must be “silo killers.” Communication and information has to be open and accessible for every team member. This provides the environment for people to feel confident, supported, and empowered.
• Share the vision - one of the first, and most consistent, things every leader has to do is communicate the vision that the team is collectively working to achieve. This gives every team member a shared goal to work toward and helps define the role every person can play in making it a reality.
• Be nimble - adopting the right tools cannot be overstated. Having the best technology and resources that help people work more efficiently, effectively, and collaboratively is the basis for building a team that works and communicates well together.
