Ania Nova, from the TV series to theater and to film. An education for her is a constant search for passion and her own dimension. A graduate in International Relations from the Northern (Arctic) Federal University, she then discovered that geopolitics could not compete with her own passion: “I tried to do something else, but I was always drawn to acting.” So she earned her second degree in Drama and Theater. For Ania, acting seems to be the stage of life, the place where she feels free. “Acting is my home, that's why I decided to make it my career. I simply can't leave my home.”

Her talent is also recognized abroad. In fact, Ania won the best supporting actress award at the Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles (2019) for the film Deny. She was also cast in the TV series Headhunters based on the novels by Jo Nesbø where she played three episodes out of six. She still has fond memories of, such as hunting mice: “I remember having to shoot mice with a gun in the woods. No animals were hurt, of course, but it was a lot of fun. It was a challenge playing the character of Tanya, a complex character with depth.” Ania also measured herself against the cast of the TV series Wisting, alongside Carrie-Anne Moss and Sven Nordin. In 2024 she landed her first leading role in Anton Chekhov's play Three Sisters (1900), playing the character of Olga at the Gamle Raadhus Scene in Oslo.

“I am grateful to my mother who sent me to a children's theater when I was 11”. Ania likes to remember this, and is grateful for the emotions that acting has stirred in her heart from a very young age. “Since I was a child I knew that I wanted to be an actress. I loved watching movies and music concerts. I would literally imitate TV stars and celebrities from the screen. At home, I would entertain my parents' guests by reading anecdotes and poems.

The talented Ania Nova sees a leading role in the movies in her future. “I would like to do a historical drama, a fantasy or a psychological thriller. It doesn't really matter, as long as the script inspires me.” Ania acts out of passion; feeling emotions is the motto that drives her. “Act for yourself, forget the audience. If you have fun, they will have fun”, she says, adopting the motto of her acting teacher and actor Kirk Baltz. And she has fun and entertains on both screen and stage. “I feel, to play a leading role, you have to be sure that the script is right for you and you are the right person to tell the story. And of course, you have to be mentally and physically in the right place. You have to make sure that you are able to deliver your performance all the way through. Playing a lead role is a huge responsibility but I have a feeling that I am ready for it.
