88th Y's Men's Rodeo Minot North Dakota: The Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo 2017

Minot, North Dakota

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association is once again riding into North Dakota for the Minot Rodeo and the Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo. In 2017, this PRCA event will unfold from October 5 to October 8 with more than just Minot Rodeo action; families will also get to enjoy taking part in a local Trade Show, the coronation ceremony of the Miss Rodeo North Dakota, and fan parties.

As usual, the PRCA portion of the Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo will feature competitive events such as roping, steer wrestling, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, and everyone's favorite: bull riding. Prior to the PRCA action, organizers have put together a silent auction and a dinner for local business leaders who will participate in the Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign to promote breast cancer awareness on October 4. The Minot Rodeo will start off in earnest on Thursday, October 5 at the State Fair Center, followed by a fan party at the Sleep Inn Hotel.

There will be three more PRCA performances on Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. On Sunday night, the finals will start at 1:30 p.m. right after the Miss Rodeo North Dakota, where attendants will be dazzled by the sheer beauty of the Peace Garden State.

On October 7, fans of western cuisine are invited to taste the many recipes prepared at the Magic Place located inside the State Fairgrounds. The winner takes $500 if the judges are impressed with their approach of cooking a pot of chili from scratch, which means with raw beef and natural ingredients; only certain oils and spices can be bottled or prepared in advance.

Tickets for this event can be purchased online by visiting MinotYsMensRodeo.com. Visitors will be able to purchase individual or package tickets. Local sponsors include Dodge RAM, Hess and the Four Bears Casino and Lodge. Families who are expected to stay in the area or return for the holidays will want to stay updated for the Cowboy Christmas Expo and Rodeo, which will be announced later this year.
